this cdv is in an album which I bought a few years back. The album itself is in quite poor repair and in my scanning is described as 'the smoky album', it has a smell of smoke from a coal fire. This particular cdv, probably from the 1890s, is very yellowed and so I've edited it a little to try and clear the picture, which is quite sweet.

Taken by the photographer J F Beaumont of Oldham and Ashton-under-Lyne, the reverse has a lovely design with a fan, bamboo and a bird that looks like it might be a stork.

  1. Love the artwork on the back, but love that facial expression even more! Priceless!

  2. You can't see images like this without wondering about the person - undoubtedly long gone now; I wonder if they had a good, and happy, life. Hope so!
